Nada de Nada

I long for sweaty summer dance parties.

From the film "Los Paranoicos."

Take you higher...

I've been reading Jeff Chang's awesome book "Can't Stop Won't Stop: A History of Hip Hop," so expect to see a lot more old school hip hop posts. To start, the Ghetto Brothers:

The footage shown in the video isn't actually of the Ghetto Brothers, but rather of the Savage Skulls and Nomads in "80 Blocks from Tiffany's," a documentary about the Bronx gangs in the 1970's.

Just enjoy yourself...

I've also been loving everything on "Off the Wall." God he was soooooo awesome.

"S" is for save it!

Aw, bless him. I've been listening to this song non-stop (PUN?!?).

New Years Resolutions

Maybe if I write down some resolutions I'll actually be more inclined to keep them? Starting with....

Write in this blog more. Seriously, at least once every week or two. Posting twice a year is not making better writer or a more committed person. Uhg.

Draw daily. Or at least four or five times a week. I'm never going to get better if I don't actually do anything.

Read daily. I'm sick of having all of these "to read" lists.

Go snowboarding three times this winter. And hopefully fine someone to go with...

Get photoshop/learn layouts.
And maybe actually try to layout a local paper? We'll see...

Spend less time on the computer.
I have no idea how I'll actually accomplish this, especially since I want to learn photoshop, but a nice idea all the same. Maybe just spend less time stumbling and re-watching shitty movies on streaming sites.

Practice piano at least once a week. Compared to the zero that I play it now. Sigh.

That's all I can think of right now. Hopefully more posts to come about how I'm dealing with all these.

We be makin' mountains out of Cool Whip

I love the Beastie Boys.

Enough of this grunge rehashing shit, the only really sweet '90s things to reflect back on are sitcoms, bad movies and hip hop.
